A quick illustration -- initially it was going to be a spot drawing but turned out to be a centerpiece illustration -- to go with a sports quiz feature. Usually I use the program Painter to add color but I used Photoshop for this because I had to get it done quick.

Venture Bros. Opening
This is a great cartoon. Lots of pop references -- especially from the era I grew up in -- and great writing.

Ms. Pacman video
Karen & Reg Wedding slideshow
Jared, my son, loves to watch this video. He keeps digging it up out of my YouTube account. I suspect that the likes watching it to help refresh his memory of that great day. And he probably doesn't remember much of it as he was pretty young. Or he just likes the song. Or he's a hopeless romantic!

A quick drawing for our Consumer section (comes out Sundays.) I found out drawing a pile of papers is much more time consuming than I imagined!

Home Heating Prices On Fire
A simple drawing done for an article about the skyrocketing price for home heating. A little less color texture that I usually do but it seemed to fit.
This drawing hit a soft spot coming just a couple days after going on an overnight camping trip with my son and his Webelos pack. It got very cold (below 20 degrees at one point) and we stuck close to those campfires.
Gives you a lot more appreciation for home heating systems.

Cheney 101907
I tried a little bit different method with this illustration. I worked up pencil drawings for the characters and scanned those into the computer. Then cleaned them up a little and bumped up the levels so the pencil lines were pretty black. I then moved the drawings into a vector drawing program (Adobe Freehand) where I positioned the drawings, added color and arrows.
I don't think it's quite as smooth looking as most of my drawings but it was a bit faster and made editing the color easier.

Golf Stories
I'm just setting up so just seeing if this will all really work. I was trying something new with this illustration: using a set of colors across a series of illustrations. Didn't always work out too well but was an interesting exercise.
